Casting your own circle:

• Make sure you’re in a safe space.

• Gather materials.

• Make sure the time of day and day of the week are correct, depending on what you are doing with your circle.

• Make sure your space isn’t messy.

• Create altar.

• Create your physical circle out of something, like salt, yarn, candles, or plants.

• Have people sit in designated areas.

• Cleanse your space, using sage, enchanted water, moon water, lavender spray, salt water spray, or cleansing incense.

• Call in directions and the spirit using an incantation.

• Calm your mind.

• Start your ritual.

• Open your circle.

Opening the circle once you are finished with your ritual:

• Thank the directions using an incantation.

• Move in the opposite direction that you moved to cast the circle. (Counter clockwise)

• Blow out directional candles.

• Thank the spirit using an incantation.

• Blow out the middle candle.

• Keep spell candles lit.

Calling in the directions:

Face the direction that you are calling into your circle. Hold up your wand, athame, or hands. Say your incantation that welcomes the direction into your circle. Make sure to welcome in the element that the direction represents. You can write your own incantations for this process.

Example:

North: Hail to the guardians of the north, element of earth, ruler of the physical world and all living things. Guide us through our journey and join us in our circle. Hail and welcome.

East: Hail to the guardians of the East, element of air, ruler of intellect and thought. Guide us through our journey and join us in our circle. Hail and welcome.

West: Hail to the guardians of the west, element of water, ruler of emotion and love. Guide us through our journey and join us in our circle. Hail and welcome.

South: Hail to the guardians of the south, element of fire, ruler of passion and inspiration. Guide us through our journey and join us in our circle. Hail and welcome.

Spirit: Hail to the goddess the god and the energy from the other realms. We welcome in your magic, your power, and your spirit. Hail and welcome.
